I have owned this aircraft for a few years and am ready to share it, intending to syndicate VH-AQI. I have been a member of a syndicate that operates a Tigermoth out of Luskintyre (in which a share has also come up for sale) for the last 12 years. The pilots are a great bunch, and we frequently get together to fly and ground crew, or for maintenance days. There is always someone to attend fly-ins with and, at times, it is fun to be a passenger in your own aircraft on the long trips. I would like to replicate a similar environment with AQI. VH-AQI has undergone a complete restoration by Luskintyre Aviation Restoration at the airfield completed in March 2024 and has a fresh 100 hourly. It is hangared at Luskintyre Airfield. Luskintyre is a private all over grass airfield 2 hours north of Sydney and 40 minutes from Newcastle. Annual Membership of the Luskintyre "family" is $1800. This fee covers landings and access to all facilities including the clubhouse (bbq/commerical coffee machine/fridge/microwave etc). The airfield has accommodation available, being a house with separate bedrooms, kitchen, pool table, TV, and library. It is a safe environment for a whole family to overnight. Fuel is available at the airfield or nearby Maitland. We have several free open days each year that are well attended by car and motorcycle clubs from all over NSW. Aircraft flown and displayed on the day include AQI, Tigermoths, Stearman, Piper Cubs, DH 60s and other aircraft that are a part of the airfield's flying museum. It is a unique community to be an active part of.
AQI is rated +7G/-5G.
