Very reliable and easy to fly/land. Short field and grass strips no problem with a sturdy retractable undercarriage and large wheels & with a large flap. Very responsive & powerful engine (supercharged 360 HP - service ceiling 4000 metres). Mostly original instrumentation including the AHI, altitude instrument has been changed to feet, airspeed is calibrated in Klm/hour (cruises at 220 @ 65% rpm 56 litres/hour), VSI is calibrated in metres/second. You get a RMI which is accurate and very stable (no regular adjustments required in flight). Original electrical system apart from the battery which consists of 2 x 12 volt sealed lead acid batteries in series located in a compartment inside the starboard inner wing. Empty weight can be reduced by around 100Kg by removing original electrical system and replacing it with a lightweight western system. Optional propeller upgrade - due in 2025 would increase performance and make for a quieter cabin. Fuel system is very simple with no selectors - tanks drain into the central collector tank under gravity, with fuel in the auxiliary tank in the luggage compartment draining first before the main tanks. Includes airplane cover and propeller cover, as well as a hangar towbar, portable towbar, $600 or more of suitable engine oil (W100+ & W120 & W100), & original documentation. CASA Logbooks available for viewing at Toowoomba. Includes original Russian & Hungarian logbooks. Note - calendar life on hoses expires September 2023 The hangar is available (Toowoomba) for sale as well. |
