Currently hangared in Gisborne, New Zealand. 172RG, 180Hp with CSU, airframe hours approx. 9600. Engine is 750 hours, overhauled 2014. Prop CSU overhauled last year.
Aircraft always hangared, runs beautifully, mysteriously drinks very little fuel, used to be the IFR trainer at Nelson aviation college Autopilot, ADSB, 2 radios, nav/com, GPS Garmin 430 WAAS , standard IFR instruments - note - magnetic flux sensor in wing is u/s so currently the IFR instruments dont function, but as part of our "fault finding mission" with avionics in Tauranga they tested the HSI, which works perfectly, we then found out magnetic sensor was bust - neither of us are IFR so havent fixed it yet. Maintained by Sunair Tauranga- details/logs info can be got from them. Compared to 172 with fixed gear+160Hp + fixed pitch prop, this aircraft has huge advantages - with CSU engine puts all power to prop at any airspeed, so the max gross take off weight is actually a "useful" useful load, i.e. 4 adults, almost full fuel and still get off the ground easy, or 2 adults and 2 kids with a boot-full of luggage. 2nd huge advantage with CSU is that you can power back in the cruise to 60 or 70%, and still whistle along at a good speed but low gas burn. |
