This aircraft has a fabulously interesting story. Built by Ivan Smith, in Nairobi (Kenya) in 2002, it was powered with a VW engine. It was transported (via the USA) to Australia in 2006 and a trusty Rotax 912UL was fitted. A landing incidentat Cessnock in 2016 meant that a major rebuild was undertaken to plans (with factory Zenith parts, including all structural components) by the current owner, who has enjoyed flying the aircraft for the last 3 years! Total airframe time: 270.9 hours! |
