1974 Cherokee PA 28-140 with 150hp output in good condition. The engine is out of calendar about 500hr remaining on the engine before 2000hr overhaul. In spite of the TTAF of over 12k hours, this is a trouble free aircraft with no history of serious damage which is ideal for the weekend flyer or pilot building hours. It also has the added benefit that it is not affected by the wingspar AD recently mandated by the FAA which will apply to most of the other Piper Cherokee variants With the good compressions and generally overall good condition of the engine and oil consumption of 1 qrt every 9 to 10 hours (which is in accordance with Lycoming specifications) there is no good reason the engine cannot be operated on condition beyond 2000 hrs with good and regular maintenance. Gap seals are fitted on wing control surfaces and it flies straight and true and handles beautifully. a Skytech starter motor has been fitted within the last 100 hrs which ensures easy starting and a new starter ring gear and fanbelt were also fitted less than 30hr ago. Comes with the normal six pack of instruments as well as the following: - 300ADF
- AH
- Bendix King KLN89B GPS with CDI
- AVMAP EKP IV GPS (Panel mounted)
- Garmin 96C
- NARCO COM 120 Radio
- PMA 4000 Pilot/Co-pilot intercom system
- Standard engine instruments
- Transponder which was checked and certified in June 2020
It also has an autofuel STC and is currently undergoing its annual inspection including replacement of all engine rubber hoses and two main wheel tyres. The oil cooling system was thoroughly flushed and cleaned just before the last inspection and new hoses fitted at the time. The latest compressions will be confirmed after completion of the inspection, but during its last inspection in early 2020 the compressions were middle to upper 70's and the plane has flown less than 20 hours since then due to the Covid pandemic. All logs are available and the aircraft is currently located in Bendigo. |
