This is a very well maintained Cherokee fully equipped for IFR flight with all avionics in working order and databases up to date. Used for flight instruction currently, for all stages from ab-initio to CPL Hr building and single engine IFR training. All ADs and maintenance programs up to date and nil corrosion. Plenty of time left on engine and prop and the aircraft has been flown regularly. Hrs are up to date as at 1 Feb 21. The aircraft flew 320hrs during 2020 so is very active. Upgrades include dual-side toe brakes and Mogas STC so it can run on unleaded motor fuel and save $ with Fuel Tax credits and low fuel prices. Also runs on Avgas with no difference in performance either way. I've gained my PPL, CPL, and Instructor Rating in this aircraft and now no longer need it for building hours and have no plans to use it for personal transport. This is a great touring plane or IFR trainer with lots of working toys in it. It probably best suits a private buyer who wants a reliable and reasonable transport that can fly IFR and get in and out of country airstrips. Or it could suit someone wanting to build their CPL and IFR hours as I have. It can carry 4 pax with full fuel although legroom is limited in the rear seat in this model. It is flown regularly on cross-hire with a flying school and the hours will change. As at 1 Feb 21 it is undergoing 100hr service. Expected to be flying again mid-February. |

Refer above. Compared to any other Cherokee around of any age this is loaded with avionics and the engine / mixture controls have been modified to improve the ergonomic layout of the cockpit. Maintenance records are complete all the way back to 1965. Maintenance has been to a high standard. It was owned by an Avionics operation previously and used as a demo aircraft - hence the rich package included. Last annual / 100hr service is underway as at 1/2/21. It will be good for another 100hrs or annual to mid-February 2022 when complete. All compressions good. No major items due soon. Engine and prop more than half life remaining. Prop was new when fitted in 2010 so is first life and the engine was factory rebuilt by Lycoming at its last overhaul and was zero timed then. This aircraft has all AD's and Piper service bulletins applicable to this aircraft up to date and compiled with. The recent Wing Spar AD covering PA28 aircraft does not apply to this model. I plan 40 litres per hr but get closer to 33-36 depending on the type of flight. Fuel capacity 180 litres. It cruises easily at 110kts TAS and can go faster if you want to use more fuel. MTOW is 1088kg. Performance is identical whether running on Mogas (at net $0.90 per litre) or Avgas. Price is negotiable to serious buyers. The plane is located in Cowra, NSW approximately 4hrs drive west from Sydney, 2hrs from Canberra. Service records are all located in Cowra. |
