Brilliant aerobatics toy or FAST touring machine. VH-8RV (previously the legendary VH-DAF) is based in Canberra (hangered at airport) owned by a syndicate of some very capable and passionate enthusiasts. The aircraft had 95% of the airframe wiring redone (I'm still traumatised) over the last year, at the same time we fixed everything we could find that needed improving, or was a concern (including the elevator spar AD). All work done by a LAME, a sheet metal tech, an SAAA TC, an aeronautical engineer, and me the 45 year electronics and computing nerd. Why am I selling? Two reasons; life has thrown me a curveball, and the other is that I just don't fly it enough as I have the equally legendary T182T VH-KAM as the station wagon, I'm trying to finish a Rans S-21, and doing house reno's etc all at the same time. I'm quite firm on the price - the last share sold for $32k, and in reality it easily owes me $40k capital plus my share of improvements). This is a 1/6 share. If you don't have a TW endorsement, we have a protocol to get you there, this ain't no Citabria - it's just the funnest bloody thing this side of a Rocket. $275 fixed contribution per month and $165 per **AIRSWITCH** hour, and split the cost of any further upgrades (is any plane ever finished?). Also half a share in a chute if you want (additional) - we can discuss that. |

TOTAL panel rebuild (and yeah Warbo needs to finish the bloody labels). OK so we didn't upgrade to Dynon Skyview - the difference was not worth the price. So The PFD is a EFIS D180, the EMS a D10A, the primary NAV a Garmin 430 (not WaaS), a GTX375 XPDR, uAvionics AV30E, G meter, compass (a what?), CO detector wired in, flap controller, pitot heat, AoA displayed on the D180, Coupled Dynon autopilot. Er second radio is - totally forgotten. VFR, NIGHT VFR, IFR - now first of all let me tell you, you are not going to be punching through really bad weather - but for those light IFR days we get in Canberra this is the thing. She will do RNAV's all day, and can do VOR and ILS if you are so inclined. New battery, new backup batteries. |

NEW seats, new pilot grip, new control cables (with extra heat shielding on exhaust) |
Exterior |

Ferrari red..... if there is one area that needs a bit of work it's the exterior, it's still 8/10 but the temporary paint for the elevator spar AD needs fixing, and there are a few scratches on the airframe that I just don't like. In the overhaul I resprayed the engine cowls and they are good. I also did the spats and ONE is great, the other had some silicon contamination, so that one needs to be done again (but you might even notice). Canopy is in great nick, and very clear. |
